from Quilts by Wing Designs
(7) Name: 'Quilting : Gemini Sky
Gemini Sky Theresa's quilt
Gemini Sky Optional Design 2

Gemini Sky Optional Design 3
Gemini Sky Optional Design 1

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Sewing accurate 1/4" seams
  • Rotary cutting skills

Pattern Description:

Starry, starry skies ..... Great for LARGE PRINTS

The pattern uses four fabrics: a medium/large print for the border and blocks, a light fabric for the background, a medium and a medium/dark to create your stars. However, it can also be done SCRAPPY -- see our Americana versions.

The Gemini Sky block is such an easy block -- it's the way you TWIST AND TURN it that creates your star designs, as well as many other optional designs: a few that we have included with your pattern. We offer one option for borders in the pattern, but others can be easily adapted to work.

Designed with beginners in mind, but unique enough for advanced quilters.

This pattern started out as a Mystery Quilt, so you will find the step-by-step instructions VERY EASY to follow and understand with LOTS OF DIAGRAMS.

In the cutting out process, we have you putting your parts into marked clear plastic bags, which greatly helps with keeping things organized. So whether you get the quilt finished this week or next month (or for some of us, perhaps next year), you will always be able to find your parts and pieces and get right back into the fun of completing this quilt top.
