Garden Maze is an original quilt pattern for a small wall hanging with a stained glass look. I have taught this as a class and my students all had stunning results. Construction is done using only straight piecing and does not use bias tape. Choose a colour-way and collect fabric strips in a variety of shades from light to dark; batiks or tone on tone prints work well. Extra fabric would be required to match directional prints.
This wall hanging could be a unique house warming gift, made with love by you!

Hi! I am Janet Barker from Calgary, AB. I have been quilting for 13 years and have been designing my own quilt patterns for about 7 years. At the request of my guild, I started publishing my patterns in 2011. My pattern testers, customers and students have been very happy with their results using my new patterns. I love seeing another quilter's version of my designs!

My patterns often incorporate completely original blocks, or at the very least new twists on standard blocks. I have three types of designs - folded back bias curves, geometrics using "grout", and tessellations. So far I have not incorporated curved piecing or applique, but that may come!
I have an engineering degree and am a retired geophysicist; perhaps that is why I love the geometry of quilting! I hope that you will enjoy stitching up some of my designs.
