Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Intermediate quilting skills including rotary cutting and an accurate scant 1/4" seam

Pattern Description:

This small quilt makes a wonderful table topper or wall hanging to add to your Christmas decor. Folded bias edges are rolled back to create curves with no curved piecing. Keep things simple with just one block and a number of interesting borders.

Alternate border options are possible but are not included in the pattern instructions. An alternate layout is also shown here for a table runner using three Poinsettia blocks but is not included in the pattern.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 25" x 25"

Materials:

  • 1/4 yd or f.q. cream background
  • 1/4 yd or f.q. medium red
  • 1/8 yd dark red
  • 1/8 yd dark green
  • 1/8 yd inner border
  • 1/4 yd or f.q. middle border
  • 1/2 yd outer border
  • 1/4 yd binding
  • 3/4 yd backing and batting

You Will Also Need:

  • Neutral 100% cotton sewing thread, glue stick, rotary cutter and ruler, quilting threads to match fabrics. Optional: embroidery thread for flower centre.
