Wall Hanging

Skill Level:

small skill level requirement Beginner

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • simple machine applique with fusible

Pattern Description:

I designed this for fun one day out of a bunch of scraps and "found" embellishment materials; I love a project that I can dive right into out of what I already have on hand. This is just a really fun and quick free-flowing, no stringent rules type of design that will push you to relax and have fun with your fabrics without worry about how the finished project should look - your creation will differ from mine because it is YOURS! I had a lot of fun playing with some of the tools I own and don't use as often as I should, like my Leaves Galore ruler and iron-on threads, but this can be made without those items just as easily. Embellishment is easily accomplished with some doodads glued on with Jewel-it, my favorite embellishment glue, or if you prefer sewn on by hand or machine.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 7" x 20" bellpull style wall hanging

  • Fat eighths of black/white prints
  • Fat eighths of pink prints
  • Fat quarter of one pink print
  • Fat quarter for backing and binding
  • Buttons, bows, jewels, beads, ribbons, etc for embellishment
  • Iron - on threads (Kreinik) - optional
  • Leaves Galore ruler (Sue Pelland Designs) - optional
  • Mistyfuse or other lightweight fusible

You Will Also Need:

  • A few hours and a fun and flirty attitude

While my mom sewed all manner of things, quilts were never one of them. I discovered quilting on my ...
