I've taught beginning sewing for five years to ages 8 and up to adults. I saw the need for clear instructions with good diagrams/photos for beginners. You beginners can make this with these easy step my step instructions.

This is a pdf file. You can print it out on 8.5x11 inch paper. BE SURE to set print to "actual size" not "fit", or your pattern will not be the correct size. BE SURE you have Adobe Acrobat Reader (which you can download for free http://www.adobe-reader.org/).

Materials:

  • 1 pack of 30-42 "Charm Squares" 5 inch precut squares of cotton, woven fabric OR Assorted fabric squares all 4 in. or all 5 in.
  • A non-stick (teflon) pressing sheet. (for ironing)
  • 1 yard of Pellon(tm) Fusible Quilters Grid 820
  • 3/4 yard cotton, woven fabric for front border
  • 1+1/2 yard cotton, woven fabric for back
  • threads

You Will Also Need:

  • sewing machine
  • iron
  • scissors or optional rotary cutter, mat and acrylic template ruler
