While playing with the chisel shape I created the block for this quilt. When I added color and Asian inspired fabrics the quilt reminded me of lovely Japanese lanterns waving in the soft breeze on a warm summer night.
This pattern is designed to be easily cut with an AccuQuilt GO! cutter with the chisel die.
A template for rotary cutting is also included for those who do not have the Go! fabric die cutter.
This is a very easy quilt top to piece together. It uses only straight seams. While it is easy enough for an advanced beginner, the appearance can be quite elegant.
Finished size 80" by 80" This can be easily enlarged by adding additional borders or extra rows or columns of blocks. The block will also work for a smaller quilt or a table runner (no smaller than 18" wide)
Pattern designed by Gene Black.
I am both a painting artist and a quilt artist. I enjoy creating in many forms.
I started quilting in 2008 when a friend asked me to be moral support in the first class she taught on piecing. I fell in love with fiber art in that very first class session. I love designing and creating.
