Pattern Description:

This pattern was originally published in the premier issue of Modern Quilts Unlimited. It's back with two new variations plus as sketch for the quilter to create a unique design in two different sizes.

The pattern also includes a full tutorial on foundation paper piecing my Broken Diamonds block seen in that quilt. (Pattern for the the actual Broken Diamonds quilt is not included).

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • All three variations finish at approximately 68" x 68".
  • A sketch is included for the quilter to design a 68" or 90" square quilt, but fabric requirements are not included.

Materials:

  • Basic sewing tools are needed including sewing machine, rotary cutter, cutting mat, etc.

You Will Also Need:

  • A large (15" - 20 1/2"), clear acrylic ruler is helpful for squaring up large improv blocks, but is not required.
  • Fabric requirements vary depending on specific design. Generally 2-3 yrds of background fabric and 3-4 yrds of colored fabrics for blocks are needed.
