This quilt was inspired by the street map of Bath, the famous English spa town which enjoyed its heyday in the Regency era. The majestic Royal Crescent with its inimitable view was the birthplace of the concept behind this elegant wall hanging.

This is a medium sized wall hanging (ca. 28 x 57 or ca. 71 x 145 cm) made up entirely of Drunkards Path units (a square divided by a curved line making one convex and one concave shape) in two matching sizes. These units are arranged to form full circles (pattern also known as Snowball or Robbing Peter to Pay Paul), half circles and three-quarters of a circle. The design needs 16 different fabrics belonging to the same colour group.
You don't have time to cut out the many curved shapes needed for this quilt? A kit is available containing all the necessary shapes pre-cut from the beautiful Ruby Red fabrics (by Oakshott Fabrics; www.oakshottfabrics.com) we used in our Circles & Crescents wall hanging. The kit is available from the Quilt around the World webshop: http://www.quilt-around-the-world.com/en/content/circles-crescents-quilt-kit-plus-pattern

Jutta and Johann have been working together for over two years setting up the platform for their new independent and international online quilt magazine Quilt around the World (www.quilt-around-the-world.com). Johann concentrates mainly on the technical issues, but is very involved in the design process of every project Jutta tackles for Quilt around the World.
Johann is Austrian and started quilting in 2010. In his spare time, he loves doing dangerous things: mountain climbing, skiing, hiking through the wilderness and motorcycling.
Jutta is Bavarian and started quilting in 1996. When she isnât quilting, she enjoys reading, going to the movies, swimming, travelling, or trying to keep up with Johann on almost vertical hiking trails or ski slopes in the Alps.
