Designer Jean Anne Wright tells us that
in an earlier century quilters exchanged
album quilt blocks as a token of friendship.
The center "x" in each block was often cut
from plain muslin so sentiments and best
wishes could be penned onto the fabric. The
blocks were then signed by the maker so
each quilter could be remembered.
You can renew this treasured tradition by making this quilt too!
