Mug rugs are quick and easy and so much fun to make--and the ghouls of Halloween are the perfect subject matter! Raid your scrap box and fat-quarter stash for the fabrics. All of these ghoulish little guys require fusible web to apply the appliques to the easy-to-piece backgrounds. You'll piece them using the foundation-paper-piecing method.
Full-size foundations included with the directions for each project. If you've never done this type of piecing, you'll find it easy to learn by following the directions and illustrations included with each mug rug design. Tips for foundation piecing are included in the directions. These are quick-and-easy beginner projects, but anyone who knows how to sew can make them.
I'll bet you can't make just one!
If you prefer, you can purchase individual patterns for each of the four mug rugs shown in this pattern set in my Craftsy pattern store for $2.50 each.
Happy Halloween stitching!

I am a published sewing and quilting author with several books and many magazine articles to my credit. My most recent book, How to Make a Quilt was published in August 2014 by Storey Publishing. I've written two other successful books for them-- The Quilting Answer Book and The Sewing Answer Book. I learned to sew from my grandmothers, great grandmother, and my Mom when I was barely in grade school and I've been sewing ever since. I added quilting to my repertoire in the 1980s and worked for a major quilt book publisher as Managing Editor and then Editor-in-Chief for 5 years. Now I have my own business, designing quilts and tote bags and anything else that strikes my fancy.Go to www.joyofsewingandquilting.blogspot.com to see my projects and whatever else I'm up to. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find something you'd like to make in my Craftsy store!
