I have always liked creating things. I remember my mother sewing late in the night. I am one of nine children and mum would always be making new clothes, mending old ones or creating something that was needed for school. I loved to watch her at the machine, an old singer treadle, and she would talk about the fabric. I learnt to sew on that old machine.
I love applique. The nuns who taught at my school insisted on the neatest most even stitches and I have carried their lessons with me and love hand applique the best. Watching the fabric pictures come to life is a joy.
Quilting came about from a picture on a quilting magazine that I thought was really beautiful and from that moment I was hooked. Here was a hobby that combined my love of fabric and sewing and the possibilities are truly endless!
This quilt can easily be made over a couple of weekends and is ideal for a confident beginner or a more seasoned quilter. Why not stitch the applique while watching the TV? The old fashioned boys toys are ideal for that special little boy in your life and will look really good on any little boys bed. Try Baby Quilt in other colour ways - a muted palette of tans and blues or something more vibrant and modern. All the applique pictures are included full size and ready for fusibles! Instructions for making Baby Quilt are included.
