Basic Skills Necessary:

  • You should already know how to use a sewing machine and some of the fancier stitches. Preferable, you would also have knowledge of fusible applique and cutting out fabrics using rotary cutting tools. If not, you can still learn by referring to quilting books that teach these methods.

Pattern Description:

I thought I'd try one more baby quilt, with bearsas they are so fun and quick to sew up. I liked the blue and peach fabrics I had in my stash, and this was my inspiration for creating these two cute bearsa boy and a girlon this quilt.

I know there is a ton of inspirational fabric available; however, I like to challenge myself to come up with ways to use fabrics from my stashand in that process, a wonderful quilt is the result.

This PDF pattern has colored illustrations, clear instructions, and full-size templates for the applique pieces that have already been reversed for the fusible applique process. Use my fabric choices as your guide and have fun with this project.

If you wish, you may try one of my free applique patterns to see if the method is one you would like to make.
