Pattern Description:

Quick and easy wall-hanging or table topper. Embellish with Kanzashi flowers and beaded trim for a fun touch of bling or leave plain for an understated elegance! Pattern includes suggested quilting. Let your imagination run wild and have fun!!

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Approximately 26" square

Materials:

  • Cotton Quilting Fabric:
  • Light-1: four 3-1/2" squares and one 9" square
  • Light-2: four 3-1/2" squares (may be same as light-1)
  • Dark-1: four 3-1/2" squares and one 9" square
  • Dark-2: five 3-1/2" squares (may be same as dark-1)
  • Inner Border: four strips that are 2" wide x 18" long
  • Outer Border: 2/3 yard
  • Binding: 1/3 yard
  • Backing: 1 yard
  • Batting: 30" square (cotton, 80/20, or bamboo preferred)

You Will Also Need:

  • Neutral thread for piecing
  • Contrasting or matching thread for quilting
  • Sewing machine, 1/4" piecing foot helpful; walking foot helpful
  • Rotary cutter with sharp blade / cutting mat
  • 6" x 24" acrylic quilter's ruler
  • 6" x 6" acrylic quilter's square-up ruler
  • General sewing supplies: straight pins, seam ripper, pencil or marker, scissors, etc.
  • Embellishment Supplies: Your choice - samples use large Clover Kanzashi flower templates with beaded / fringed trims that were found in the upholstery section of craft store like Hobby Lobby.
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks to apply embellishments
