Type:

Item:

Blanket/Bedspread

Skill Level:

small skill level requirement Beginner

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Basic sewing skills, Rotary cutting skills, Straight piecing

Pattern Description:

The colors in this quilt remind me of the Birds of Paradise flower - I love the red, yellow and orange hues in this quilt!

This quilt is super scrap friendly. Each ring requires just a 2" strip of fabric. However, the background still keeps this quilt looking planned and unified!

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Crib Quilt (43" x 56")
  • Lap Quilt (56" x 69")
  • Twin/Single Quilt (69" x 82")
  • Full/Double Quilt (84" x 84")
  • Queen Quilt (86" x 99")
  • King Quilt (99" x 99")

Materials:

  • You will need one background fabric. I've used white in my quilt.
  • You will also need scraps for the rings - the rings are fat-quarter friendly!
  • Small scale prints work best.

You Will Also Need:

  • Backing and batting to finish.
  • Additional fabric for optional borders and binding

Excellent Such a good scrappy pattern!   October 10, 2013

I used up a lot of my fat quarters and fat eights in this pattern, each ring takes very little fabric, making this the perfect scrap-busting project!
