Designed for a class on basic techniques of fabric painting, this project is easy, quick and fun and can be made in a variety of colors. As an alternative to fabric painting, the motif patterns can easily be converted to hand or machine applique. The project takes about 8 hours to complete from cutting the fabric to finishing the binding.
The design can be expanded to a table runner, wallhanging or full size quilt by adding additional blocks. This is also a good project to practice free motion quilting or experiment with heavier threads. The sample features perle cotton to outline the motifs.

I've been quilting for almost 30 years and love to design quilts. I design my own patterns using Electric Quilt. I love applique, fabric painting and dyeing, and embellishments of all kinds. Email me at townsend16@verizon.net if you have any questions. I'm working on a website and blog. Hope to have it up soon
