Basic Skills Necessary:

  • sew an accurate 1/4 inch seam
  • baste, quilt and bind a finished top

Pattern Description:

I love making the most of precuts (layer cakes and charm packs) and I am so excited that this pattern makes three baby quilts out of one layer cake! The designs go together quickly, so you'll be able to whip up a quick baby quilt in no time.

I have also included BONUS instructions for making three pillows out of a charm pack, as well as directions for constructing an envelope backing on a pillow cover.

This should be a great pattern for beginners to develop their quilting skills!

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 40 inch square baby quilts
  • 20 inch square pillow covers


  • One layer cake, 2 5/8 yard backing, 4 yards backing, and 1 1/4 yards binding will make THREE baby quilts!
  • One charm pack, 3/4 yard background, and 1 1/2 yards backing will make THREE pillow covers

You Will Also Need:

  • Each baby quilt needs 45" square piece of batting
  • Each pillow cover needs 20" square piece of batting
