When I think of April and the showers that come in spring I picture children out in the rain, splashing in puddles wherever they can find them. These little silhouette mug rugs are the second in what seems to be turning into a series of children and pets at play.
This pattern includes three pages of instructions with photos, templates for the children, puppies, and shoes, plus full size layouts of each of the mug rugs. The layouts show placement of applique pieces and the embroidered lines that add the details of puddles, splashes, and shoelaces.
I had so much fun making these. They go together quickly and add a bit of traditional whimsy to a coffee table or desktop.

Since retiring from my teaching career I've discovered that there is life outside of the classroom! I spend parts of most of my days indulging in my favorite hobbies of quilting and sewing. I started designing patterns as an experiment, and no one was more surprised than I was to find that other people liked my little designs. I try to write my patterns in such a way that beginning quilters can follow them. I include lots of details, photos, and little informative notes, so even if they look complicated, the instructions should be easy to follow.
