Sunbonnet Sue has captured the hearts of most quilters. She continues to endear herself to us with her sweet little ways. I designed my Amish Sue for a local quilt Shop Hop in Atlanta. Since the theme was Amish, I thought I'd give Sue one of those recognizable black bonnets. Placing her on a rectangular background instead of a square was just a nod to her own irregular personality! Different border treatments completed my quilting venture outside of the traditional way of finishing a one block quilt.
