Pattern Description:
Quilts are not always easy to carry around daily so I decided to make something I could use all the time and would not be too heavy. The shawl goes very nicely over a coat and it is not cumbersome. Folds small and fits in my handbag. Can also be made using Charm Packs which are 5" squares.
Sizing / Finished Measurements:
- 48" x 48"
Materials:
- Layer Cake - 23 pieces or 23 10" squares
- Flannel backing fabric (no wadding added) - 2 yards
- If using cotton with wadding, 2 yards for cotton and 1.5 yards for wadding
- If not using layer cakes, 2 yards of desired fabric
You Will Also Need:
- Ruler
- cutting mat
- sewing machine or needle and thread

I have always wanted to sew so when I was made redundant, I went to learn how to sew. It kept my interest for about a year and I wanted more so I went for patchwork quilting. And I have not looked back ever since. I expanded from just learning to selling fabric and teaching quilting/sewing myself.
