Basic Skills Necessary:

  • You need to have an understanding of basic sewing skills and feel comfortable with being able to topstitch.

Pattern Description:

This sturdy grocery lined bag has a hard/firm bottom and folds up easily to fit in your purse. Use your favorite fun fabrics to make your custom grocery bag. They are just like a potato chip - you can't make just one. Make them for all your friends and family. This bag holds a lot and the handles are long enough to put over your shoulder. This is one of my best selling patterns and you've probably seen it in your favorite quilting catalog.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 14" wide x 15" tall x 8" deep not including handles


  • 3/4 yd Main Fabric - Non-directional
  • 1/2 yd Accent Fabric - Handle and Top of Bag
  • 5/8 yd Lining - Non-directional
  • 3 pieces 4 1/2" x 8" of FlexiFirm, Peltex 70 or TimTex
  • 2 - 1 1/2 strips of canvas or Firm Press-On Interfacing
  • 1 - 3/4" to 1" Button

You Will Also Need:

  • Sewing machine, basic cutting tools, thread.
