Here's an easy tote to stitch and quit in a hurry. The inside padding in the tote and the coordinating accessory bag makes them perfect for safely carrying your laptop or other valuables. There's even a padded pocket attached to the tote lining sized to fit most e-readers. Stitch-and-flip the strips in place on the tote body padding to piece and quilt it all in one. The lined tote is an easy afternoon project once you've gathered your favorite fabrics in three coordinating prints. The stacked heart appliques add a little pizzazz to the front of the tote. Straps are also padded for your carrying comfort. Make the coordinating padded Accessory Bag to house your computer and e-reader cords, and USB sticks, or use it for your small digital camera and cord. Or, use it as a cosmetic bag or to hold hand-sewing supplies.
Finished Sizes
Laptop Tote: 18" Tall x 14" wide fits laptops up to 12" x 17"; the inside padded pocket will accommodate e-readers up to 7" wide x 9" tall.

I am a published sewing and quilting author with several books and many magazine articles to my credit. My most recent books are The Quilting Answer Book and The Sewing Answer Book, both published by Storey Publishing. I learned to sew from my grandmothers, great grandmother, and my Mom when I was just 7 or 8 years old. I've been sewing ever since. I added quilting to my repertoire in the 1980s and worked for a major quilt book publisher as the Editor-in-Chief for 5 years. Now I have my own business, designing quilts and tote bags and anything else that strikes my fancy. I loved taking a recent mixed media class online and had fun letting my "little girl" play with art materials. Of course, I'm using fabric in my "art." Go to www.joyofsewingandquilting.blogspot.com to see my projects and whatever else I'm up to.
