Big tote

from Meadowside Designs
(7) Name: 'Quilting : Big tote
Big tote

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Rotary cutting and simple machine stitching

Pattern Description:

This is a very large tote bag - it was based on one that our local library used to sell for carrying books home. It has four outer pockets (which you could add fasteners to if you wish), handy for keeping your shopping lists etc in. You can add further inner pcokets to the lining before making up the bag as well. It makes an ideal 'beach bag' being big enough for towels and all the other bits and pieces a day by the sea seems to involve.

  • 1 yard main fabric (outer)
  • one and half yards lining fabric
  • scrap strips in three shades of two colours for pockets

You Will Also Need:

  • rotary cutter, ruler and mat
  • one yard wadding
  • thread for stitching and quilting
