Pattern Description:

Decorative paper, especially marbled paper is one of my favorite things. When I was looking for a way to make ornaments, a friend showed me a sample ornament. Several hundred ornaments later this tutorial is the result!

It's a great gift and novel way to showcase your hand decorated paper or use your favorite scrapbook paper.

Everyone always asks "How did you do that?" This tutorial will lead you step-by-step in words and photos to craft your own one-of-a-kind ornament in small, medium or large. All sizes included in the pattern.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • small - about 2 1/2" diameter
  • medium - about 3" diameter
  • large - about 3 1/2" diametr


  • decorative paper {8 1/2" x 11"} or smaller for one ornament depending on whether you're making the small, medium or large
  • stiff cardboard {8 1/2" x 11"}
  • glue stick
  • pencil
  • cutting mat
  • scissors or craft knife
  • embossing stylus
  • needle tool or T-pin
  • sewing needle and hang cord

You Will Also Need:

  • optional: embellishments {tassel, beads etc.}
