Basic Skills Necessary:

  • This tutorial is written purely as an introduction for a beginner to get started with weaving on a rigid heddle loom

Pattern Description:

This is a pdf tutorial for learning to weave with a rigid heddle loom.

It is a 28 page guide with several easy to follow steps and 66 full colour photographs.

The tutorial was created using my own home made loom and equipment although all of these are just alternative designs or takes on more commercially available items.
The guide is intended souly as an introduction to weaving with a rigid heddle loom (or very similar style) and gives you enough information to get set up and started.

Weaving is not an exact science and everyone who weaves will have their own way of doing each stage. This is something you can only develop with time and would be impossible to put down in a short guide.

Hopefully you will find this guide easy to follow and gain confidence as you progress.

I would strongly recommend investing in a good book when you decide to learn more and develop your skills, different patterns, textiles, yarns and colours are not mentioned in this guide, as there really are endless options!.....
