I'm always impressed to see the impact of felted soaps on people : it's like love at first sight, they want to touch them, smell them... and eventually to bring them home ! They make fantastic gifts too.
Felted wool can look amazing with subtle of vibrant color changes, and various textures.
The best thing is that they are so easy to make by yourself at home, without any fancy equipments or tools. All you'll need is some roving, a soap and water.... and a lot of elbow grease !;-)
Use your felted soap as a ready-to-use face cloth. With the added bonus of the pretty wool !
Depending on the wool used, your felted soap can have gently exfoliating properties too.
The best part is that the wool will continue to felt each time you use it, so that it hugs the soap nicely until it's all used up.
This tutorial contains a lot of step-by-step photos, along with detailed instructions explaining all you need to know about materials and technique to make your own felted soaps.

Bonjour! I'm Sylvie Damey, french designer living in the french Alps. I learned to knit as a child. In 2004, the birth of my first daughter was the occasion for me to start publishing my own designs, learn to crochet, spin yarn...and even sew again. And, that's how ChezPlum started. My patterns have also been published in Knitty.com and the book "1000 hats" by Annie Modesitt.
