Pattern Description:

This ethereal shuttle tatted bookmark pattern was inspired by English rose gardens and features three parts: a) the central rose and b) and c) the petals and vines on either side. It is great fun to make and would look wonderful in a variety of different colours such as pink and leaf green, blue and white or perhaps lilac and white.

The pdf file features written instructions in English and diagrams (for right and left handers) complete with numbers of double stitches required.

As there is a definite front side to this, the left handed finished piece will be the reverse of the right handed one (as you can see in picture 2).

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Width of rose: approx. 1 3/4 inches (44mm)
  • Width of vines: approx. 3/4 of an inch (19mm)
  • Length of bookmark: approx. 6 1/4 inches (160mm)

Materials:

  • 1 x tatting shuttle
  • Size 20 crochet / tatting thread: 1st colour for rose and petals (approx. 350 inches)
  • Size 20 crochet / tatting thread: 2nd colour for vines (approx. 100 inches)
  • 1 x thin crochet hook - for joining picots (needed if your tatting shuttle does not have its own hook)
  • 1 x thin needle (to sew in the ends)
