Skill Level:

small skill level requirement Beginner

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Tatting basics (rings, chains, hiding ends)

Pattern Description:

This is my own original tatting design, created as a pattern in pdf format. The pattern is for a pair of square tatted earrings with beads. In size 20 thread, the earrings measure approximately 3/4" wide (not including your choice of ear wires).

I would call this an beginner level tatting pattern that uses a shuttle and ball, rings, chains, picots, joins, and beads. The bead work is fully explained and fairly simple - why not try your hand at a little beading in your tatting!

The written long-hand instructions are in English, and the pattern also contains a scan of the tatted earrings with the stitch count laid over part of the scan. There is no pictorial diagram of the pattern.

The pattern file size is approximately 54 KB, and is in pdf format. It is necessary to have Adobe Reader on your computer in order to open this file, but you can get that program for free at

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 3/4' x 3/4'

  • shuttle, size 20 tatting thread, 54 delica beads

You Will Also Need:

  • ear wires
