Skill Level:

medium skill level requirement Intermediate

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Make a flat piece of felt
  • Make a 3-D felt piece such as a hat or boots
  • Sew (basic level handsewing)

Pattern Description:

I wanted to try something a little different and challenging - so I started experimenting with weaving roving - this tote is the result. As an advanced pattern, it requires a little skill so I suggest you try the technique first in a sample.

A great alternative to a knitting bag, you can use it to tote just about any small(ish) craft project - look at how much I've stuffed into it!

I've found it great for taking along to fibre events - it holds enough fibre for a good long spinning session.

But wait - don't just make one as a craft bag - it looks great with jeans, and can foot it with the best!

Hi, I'm a craft dyer, feltmaker, knitter and designer who lives in a tiny settlement near the Southern Alps of New Zealand.

Most of the time I'm either dyeing lots of luscious merino or thinking of new ways to use it, whether it be designing yarn or a new technique.
