The most elegant ornaments on my Christmas tree are made of blown glass. Many of them are old, but I discovered a company in the Czech Republic that still makes the individual beads needed to make the most intricate beaded ornaments imaginable! The beads are hand blown into molds, a silver coating is applied on the inside of the bead. In some cases a translucent, colored glaze is used on the outside of the bead to provide additional colors. This process creates beautiful beads that are ideal for making unique, heirloom Christmas ornaments.
This diamond star pattern makes a great Christmas gift. The 3-dimentional design beautifully offsets the wonderful cross bead in the center. This pattern will give you all the information you need to acquire the blown glass beads (from the USA) and then take you step by step, with color photographs, through the process for making this wonderful design.
