Pattern Description:

Everywhere I look lately I see cute coffee coozies selling for $8 to $12 each. Whether made of yarn or fabric, reusable coffee coozies are a great way to save a tree. Instead of grabbing a cardboard holder when you run through your favorite coffee shop in the morning, just slip your cup into a cute handmade and reusable cover. I've also found that this design works equally well to keep you hand from getting wet and slippery on a cold drink in the summer.
This pattern takes so little material and time you can run one up in a half hour with scraps left over from another project. What a great way to avoid waste, and to come up with a quick and personalized gift when you need one at the last minute.

Materials:

  • One piece of 12 inch wide by 10 inches tall or two pieces that are each 12 wide by 5 inches tall. With one fat quarter you could make three coozies.
  • I made this sample from quilter's cotton, but almost any lightweight fabric would work.
  • One piece of batting 12 inches wide by 5 inches tall. I used Insul-bright because I had some scraps from a pot holder project, but regular batting will provide plenty of insulation. If you also want the coozy to be absorbent (for cold drinks) then cotton batting would be best.

You Will Also Need:

  • Thread to coordinate with fabric
