Science and art collide in Bougle's Heart, a counted needlepoint or cross-stitch pattern based on an 1899 anatomical drawing by Joulien Bougle.
This pattern is 17 pages and contains chart information, single-page pseudocolor grid, black and white grids for each individual color, and a blown-up pseudocolor grid that can be printed over four pages. You only need to print one of these pages but the rest are included for ease and clarification.
The design is 115 stitches by 145 stitches.
Approximate size of the finished project (in inches) on different size canvas:
10 count - 11.5" x 14.5"
12 count - 9.6" x 12"
14 count - 8.2" x 10.3"
16 count - 7.2" x 9.1"
18 count - 6.4" x 8.1"
My design is shown in 50% wool 50% silk yarn that I hand dye. However, you can use any needlepoint yarn that is appropriately sized for your gauge of canvas. Since this is a medical illustration, exact colors do not matter. However, the pattern contains suggested color pictures and descriptions.
