Gentle Giant of the Sea, these large animals fascinate me, and I could not resist making a pattern for one, after reading about them.
This is an easy knit pattern, knit the body and fins flat, on size #4 knitting needles, and the mouth section is knit in the round, like the end of a sock, on dpn's or 2-16 inch circular needles.
Instructions are easy to follow , and the item knits up quick.
Bonus section to teach you how to graft using your dpns and knit grafting , rather than the yarn needle method, works up quick, by knit grafting.
The whale shark is a filter feeder - It feeds on macroalgae, plankton, krill, Christmas Island red crab larvae and small nektonic life, such as small squid or vertebrates.
