Basic Skills Necessary:

  • You should know how to knit in rounds and be familiar with increases/decreases.
  • You need to know how to slip stitch, single crochet and double crochet.

Pattern Description:

The turtle hand puppet is designed to fit a childs hand, but it also fits smaller adult hands.

23sts x 30rows= 4x4 inches

Gauge is not THAT important for this handpuppet. I recommend using yarn of the gauge above or thicker. If you use thinner yarn, the puppet might get to small.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 5inch x 4inch


  • 20g light green yarn
  • 10g dark green yarn

You Will Also Need:

  • 1 set of dpns size 3,5/4mm; US 4-6 depending on your gauge
  • 1 tapestry needle
  • waste yarn or 3 safety pins
