Pattern Description:

Looking out across a loch, surrounded by
mountains is a little croft house with a red roof.
This knitting pattern was inspired by that house
which is located on the Applecross Peninsular,
West Coast of Scotland. Make this knitted croft
house as a child's toy or add extra weight and
use as a bookend.

Gauge:

Approximately 25 stitches x 34 rows over 10cm
(4 inches) in stocking stitch.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Approximately 19cm high x 10cm deep x 20cm wide (71/2 ins x 4 ins x 8 ins).

Materials:

  • DK weight yarn in at least three colours

You Will Also Need:

  • Pair of 3 1/4 mm (US 3) knitting needles Two double pointed 3 1/4 mm (US 3) knitting needles.
  • Blunt tapestry needle
  • Sheet foam 1 inch thick cut to shape Wadding Lightweight cotton fabric Scissors Extra items for bookend version; 200g rice for weight Strong freezer bag Antislip fabric - e.g. for use under floor rugs Thread for sewing.
