Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Cast on, Cast off, knit, purl
  • knit in the round with dpns

Pattern Description:

Worsted weight Fingerless Mitts to fit American Girl Dolls (18 inches)

Feature a very short, barely-there gusseted thumb. These are also shorter in length on the wrist, and the finger area, than my other doll-size fingerless Mitten pattern (Manchester Mitts)

Knit in the round, on dpn

Knit up fast, with little more than leftover scraps of yarn (gauge swatches are often the perfect amount)

Gauge:

5 st/inch

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Sized to fit the hands of an American Girl Doll

Materials:

  • Worsted weight yarn (ex. Cascade 220). A gauge swatch is often the perfect amount to knit a pair of these (just rip out your old swatches that are lying around!)
  • SIze 6 dpns (or size to get correct gauge)
  • Scrap yarn
  • Needle for weaving in ends
