Pattern Description:

This is my final bug for a while. I know you are probably thinking, "Why do I want to knit a stag beetle?" But I would say "Why not?".

I spent a long time trying to knit and fasten little legs and horns, but in the end decided that having an acetate frame was the best way to go. The knitting is then sewn around the frame.

The pattern has a page at the back with two beetles to print on card or acetate.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 3 inches long


  • DK black wool
  • Knitting needles (UK 2.25, USA Size 1)
  • Wadding
  • Acetate
