How would you like to make a little bit of the seaside?
This realistic spiral shell is knitted flat, in two pieces, with 2 double-pointed needles and short rows. The shaping makes the knitting fall into a natural spiral.
Use any 4ply sock wool. It is a great way to use up any oddments that you have left over. My new hobby is looking for realistic shell shades.
There is one long seam. And then sewing it into a spiral is done with tiny stitches. The pattern has detailed photographs and instructions explaining how to do this.
32 stitches and 44 rows = 4 inches
I have always liked making things, and although I have been knitting a lot recently, I also like sewing and other crafts.
I live on the outskirts of London, and work part-time at a local school, and have partly got back into making things because my children are always doing something creative. At school I love the days when we get really messy.
