Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Basic increases and decreases

Pattern Description:

Sensory Caterpillar is a great toy for little ones. It is easy to grasp and feels great.

Each section of the caterpillar features a different texture.
3 of the sections have different sounds.

The caterpillar is about 12 inches long and 3 inches wide.

The caterpillar is worked in the round, all in once piece.

Basic increases and decreases are used.

You will need less then half a skein of 5 different colors.

This is a great stash busting project!


14 stitches and 16 rows = 2 inches in Stockinette Stitch

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • about 12 inches long


  • Less then half a skein of worsted weight yarn in 5 different colors
  • US 4 - 3.5 mm DPNs

You Will Also Need:

  • Jingle Bell - 12mm
  • Polyester fiberfill
  • Stitch marker
  • Squeaker - 1.25 inches (can be found in pet stores or online)
  • Rattle - 1.5 inches (can be found online)
  • Tapestry needle
