Skill Level:

little skill level requirement Novice

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Knitting and Embroidery

Pattern Description:

Sea Urchins are fascinating creatures. This Sea Urchin Shell, is knitted on two needles. It is worked in one piece, and has a single seam to sew up. The dots are embroidered on with french knots, and if you need extra help with this I refer you to my photo tutorial.

I have recommended a wool, just because I found this gave a really realistic result. This is James Brett DK Marble Colour 5. But I am sure there are other DK wools that would work well.

  • 3.25 mm knitting needles
  • DoubleKnit wool
  • wadding
  • Cream wool for spots

Preferred Brand/Yarn:

James Brett DK Marble

Ginx Craft on

I have always liked making things, and although I have been knitting a lot recently, I also like sewing and other crafts.

I live on the outskirts of London, and work part-time at a local school, and have partly got back into making things because my children are always doing something creative. At school I love the days when we get really messy.
