Rosamund is a sweetly feminine beret done in a highly textured stitch pattern that resembles little flowers, and is topped with a plump pom pom. It's designed to fit 18" dolls with a head circumference of approximately 12 1/4", like American Girl. It's worked in the round on double pointed needles, and requires minimal finishing. It would go with jeans and a casual top just as well it is does with a dress.
The stitch pattern used for the hat is unusual, but not hard. Just sit down with your needles in hand (it makes a lot more sense if you figure it out while working it on the needles, than trying to abstractly imagine it in your head) when you have some peace and quite without distractions. You'll quickly get the hang of it, and hopefully find it as much fun to work as I did! =)
- 30 sts & 56 rounds = 4" in garter stitch in the round on size 2 needles
- In the Flowers Stitch Pattern used for the body of the hat, each "flower" is 4 sts wide.
18 sts (or 4 1/2 flowers) = 2" on size 2 needles in the round.

I LOVE to knit (and sew, and have been meaning to learn a little more crochet...).
Aside from my crafty obsessions, I adore books, audio books, feeding the people I love, colors, nature, playing outside, a good nights sleep, learning new things, daydreaming, pondering the ridiculousness of the world, nerdy history and science related books/shows/movies, how I feel after vigorous activity, finding new things to love, catching glimpses of what the world looks like through my daughter's eyes, cute furry animals, this list could go on and on ....
I think the online community for crafty people is amazing, and I'm so glad to be a part of it. =)
