Pattern Description:

Please meet Oakley the Owl. Oakley is a tubby little owl, not long out of the nest and ready to make his own way in the world.

He is actually based on a favourite owl that belonged to my nephew, Stevie. He used to take that owl everywhere. Once he lost him in a restaurant and my poor brother had to retrace the 70 or so miles back up the motorway to find him. Luckily they did find him. Often wonder what happened to Stevie's Oakley.

This Oakley can be knitted using any worsted weight yarn. I used a very soft eyelash for the main part and for the tum and eyes I used Bernat Pipsqueak and also Sirdar Snowflake Chunky.

As I was researching owls I came to realise that there are many different shapes and sizes, use your imagination and create your favourite owl. I have included directions for optional ears as some owls seems to have ears!!

Pattern includes a detailed making up guide, full of photos and tips to help you. Perhaps a good idea to download and save onto your pc rather than print as it will drink your ink and eat your paper!!

I learnt the art of knitting when I was about 5 years old. Even at that age I was never happy to follow a pattern, always wanting to try something different.

After a shoulder injury I found I couldn't knit anything heavy and out of sheer boredom I found myself knitting a bear. I didn't like the finished bear and thought I could do better myself so after a lot of frustrating frogging Huggable ...
