Pattern Description:

I have designed this pattern mainly for my own pleasure. My very first pattern design was my monarch caterpillar, and since then I have had in mind to design a butterfly to accompany it.

Even I, with my love of the little and fiddly, think that this is quite tricky. Do not even think about it unless you like doing a little bit of embroidery, and are up for a challenge. But I do think the finished result is beautiful.

Some patterns say that you should not sell the finished product, but I think that as it is your make, you should feel free to do whatever you wish. For myself, I intend to keep my butterfly.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

Finished butterfly life-sized - approx 3.5 inches across

Materials:

4ply wool - red and black
Knitting needles (UK 2-3, USA 0 or 2mm)
wadding
2 black pipecleaners
