This is a two in one pattern. I first designed the little mermaid, but then thought it be rather fun to add the option of making a fairy in a tiny dress.
Both mermaid and fairy are contained in this one pattern, with detailed instructions for the sewing up. There are also links to my blog in the pattern where there are photo tutorials for some of the embroidery stitches you might choose to use on the fairy dress.
Little is the word for these knits. They take a such tiny amount of wool, which is why I have not put a yardage, and are a fun way to use up any leftovers. The knitting is very simple, all done flat on two needles, but a lot of the work is in the sewing up. But this is also the fun, as you can make your fairy or mermaid unique.
You can see some more photos mermaids on my blog at http://ginxcraft.blogspot.co.uk/2013/04/little-mermaids.html
A small selection of my fairies and mermaids are available to buy in my Etsy Shop.
I have always liked making things, and although I have been knitting a lot recently, I also like sewing and other crafts.
I live on the outskirts of London, and work part-time at a local school, and have partly got back into making things because my children are always doing something creative. At school I love the days when we get really messy.
