Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Marigold is knitted both flat and in the round on double-pointed needles, with the stitches knit, purl, lifted increases, slip stitch over and knit/purl 2 together.

Pattern Description:

Marigold the Moose got her name because marigolds are her favourite flowers. To eat, that is. She likes to keep one behind her ear as an emergency snack!

The PDF pattern includes many pictures and easy to follow, row-for-row instructions.

I-cord knitting is used for her flower; the pattern includes brief instructions for how to do that.


24 stitches and 28 rows in stockinette stitch = 10x10 cm / 4x4"

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 20 cm / 8" tall, sitting


  • double-pointed knitting needles (4 mm - US 5-6 - UK 8 recommended)
  • yarn for the moose (brown, beige, a little bit of black for the features)
  • optional: yarn for the flower (small amounts of green, yellow and orange)
  • stuffing
  • embroidery needle
