I love Highland Cattle as they have such amazing fringes! Mac is a highland bull, and he loves eating haggis and generally being lazy in the highlands of Scotland. If you would like to knit your own toy you can with this knitting pattern.

About the pattern ...
- The knitting pattern is written row by row so it is easier for beginners to follow, and includes a list of abbreviations and step by step construction details with photos to help you.
- The pattern is written in English.
- All pieces are knitted flat on straight needles except the tail which is a crochet chain (although you could use a plait of yarn instead if you can't crochet).


Approx 24sts x 32 rows for a 10x10cm square in stockinette on 3.75mm needles

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Mac is 14cm long and 11cm tall


  • The toy is knitted flat on straight 3.75mm knitting needles
  • The tail is a crochet chain made of a 3.5mm crochet hook
  • Mac uses less than 40g of double knit (light worsted weight yarn) in each colour: orange and cream

You Will Also Need:

  • The eyes are 6mm diameter black buttons, but you can use black wool to embroider the eyes instead if you wanted.
  • You will also need some toy filling.
