Basic Skills Necessary:

  • K = knit Ktog= knit two together P = purl Ptog = Purl 2 stitches together st st = stockinette stitch Kfb= knit into front loop, then knit into back loop- increase of one stitch C/o=Knit two stitches on the right hand needle- with left needle pull first stitch back and over the second stitch leaving one stitch- repeat till you have one stitch left, pull yarn through and weave in the ends. Sc- insert hook in the second chain stitch through the center of the V and under the back bump-bring yarn over the hook from back to front, and hook yarn-pull yarn through the chain stitch - You now have two loops on the hook-bring yarn over the hook from back to front, hook it and draw it through both loops on the hook Hdc- yarn over hook, insert hook into next stitch, yarn over hook, pull yarn through stitch, yarn over hook, pull yarn through all 3 loops on hook 3 Y/o- wrap yarn around the right-hand needle from back to front before knitting the next stitch

This pattern is for the clothing ONLY-- The clothing consists of 4 pieces - Corset, top, undergarment and Kilt-

Doll can be made with the free Lottie Doll basic body Pattern

Number of skeins to use is not listed because this depends on personal choice in colours, needle size and type of yarn.-- It's a doll so it won't be lots-- Use up that stash!

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • fit 18 inch doll and Lottie dolls


  • -Worst weight acrylic yarn, (or yarn of choice, remember to use needle size the same as you knitted your doll) two colours - Bernat Soft Boucl- same colour as one of the colours you have chosen above (you can use any yarn for the side of the kilt but is recommended it be a textured yarn) -5 double pointed needles (size US 7 -4.5mm) (these sizes are suggestions to obtain clothing for a 21inch doll) - Tapestry needle to sew parts together -5 stitch markers, one for beginning of round, 4 for marking arms/sleeves, corset and kilt Small button for back of top Decorative buttons for front of corset (the amount of buttons used is up to you and how you want to personalize your corset) Stitch holder or waste yarn -Crochet hook similar in size to your needles
