This lizard is knitted with a small amount of 4ply wool. Using a different shade for the underbelly gives a lovely realistic result. You will need less that 10g in all.
This is a fairly straightforward knit. You will need two double-point needles (2.25mm), as there is some icord knitting and short rows. The body of the lizard is knitted in two pieces, so there is some seaming, and the legs are knitted separately and have to be attached. I tried other ways, but this seemed to give the most realistic results.
I used craft eyes and beads, but if you are going to give this to a small child it is probably best to sew the eyes with wool.
I have always liked making things, and although I have been knitting a lot recently, I also like sewing and other crafts.
I live on the outskirts of London, and work part-time at a local school, and have partly got back into making things because my children are always doing something creative. At school I love the days when we get really messy.
