My Westie Puppy was inspired by my sister's dog, Duffy, a beautiful, playful Westie. I've never seen a knit Westie puppy anywhere, so I thought I'd take on the challenge of capturing Duffy in yarn. Long, white eyelash yarn (approx. 440 yds), combined with pink worsted weight yarn for his inner ears, gave me the material I needed to get the lovable, white furry look I was seeking to make him look lifelike. And since he looks so real, he needed a dog collar, too, made of worsted weight yarn with an added charm as a dog tag. Now he's ready to play! And you won't be able to resist giving him hugs and cuddles of love, too. He sits about 13" (not counting his ears) but gauge is not critical.
Not critical for this project. Work tightly enough to ensure that the stuffing will not show through the stitches.
