Pattern Description:

I've tried lots of commercial patterns and kits to find just the right bear for me. I found them either to basic or too complicated to follow and couldn't get the right look I wanted to create. So thought it best to try and design my own.

This is the easiest bear pattern you will ever knit. It has taken me 2 years to perfect, have friends test knit and now at last I've got it right.

It can be knitted in any double knit yarn, from eyelash, feather, chenille, suede or just plain double knit, its very versatile.

Also available as free downloads are a detailed photographed making up instructions and its own hooded jacket. Don't forget to pick up your free downloads before you exit the site.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

Sitting position bear measure 23cm - 9 inches

Materials:

125 grams eyelash/feather yarn. size 3.25mm needles,
225 - 250 yards (206 - 229 m)

You Will Also Need:

pair of 13mm safety eyes, small piece of felt, toy filler/stuffing

The second bear was much faster to knit due to my familiarity with the pattern the second time around and the fact that I found this yarn much easier to use. She (for obviously she IS a SHE) turned out smaller because I decided to use smaller needles to close up the holes in the knitting so that the stuffing would not escape.

This is a very easy pattern to follow and I enjoyed making it up. There is a lot of increasing and decreasing, but if you can do that, you will not find the project difficult. This bear is for my friend's new baby. The bear turned out quite big, so he will probably sit in the nursery until his owner can go climbing with him.

This was my first bear, and I loved making him. Gypsycream's instructions were very well written and easy to follow. The pieces knit up fast on straight needles, and you just sew them up and stuff each piece, then put it together.
