little skill level requirement Novice

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Knitting
  • Hand sewing (basic)

Pattern Description:

This is a darling snake, very colorful...perfect for beginner felters, or those who would like to use up those odds and ends!

I first created this pattern as a way to test which of the yarns (unlabeled), in my stash, were feltable! Since it only uses a total of 42 yards (6 of each color), it is a great stashbuster!
This pattern is also great for a beginner!

Felting is optional. (The last photo shows the snake unfelted.)
Easy felting instructions are given.

Gauge of yarn: 18-20 St. =4", on size US 7-8 Needle
Gauge for pattern: Not crucial

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Finished Measurements: Unfelted about 14 1/2" long; felted, about 11" long

  • About 42 Yards Worsted Weight Wool (not superwash, if you intend to felt)
  • Scrap black wool yarn

You Will Also Need:

  • US Size 8 Needles (straight)
  • Tapestry Needle

I have always been inspired, by hand knit items, but it seemed beyond reach, for me...until I took some knitting classes!
From there, it became my relaxation, and creative outlet!
My passion is designing, and I love to spin my own yarns, as well!
I love to see the finished product, on the baby models....
